At this General Membership Meeting, our bargaining committee will provide an in-depth state of the negotiations. If the University does not meet our members' needs with respect to stipend, anti-discrimination, teaching compensation/workload, and healthcare, we will stand up for ourselves and escalate toward a strike. A strike pledge indicates your readiness to join your coworkers in a strike at a future date. Once a super majority of members sign the strike pledge, the entire membership will vote whether to authorize the bargaining committee to call for an actual strike. At this meeting, we will launch the strike pledge together. Management has every opportunity to prevent a strike by giving us fair compensation, protection from discrimination and good healthcare.
