BSD Strike Preparedness Town Hall

Please RSVP so we know to expect you! There will be snacks and solidarity!

At the negotiating table, we’re still fighting for fair wages, anti-discrimination protections, and a robust teaching structure. If the administration continues not to take our proposals seriously, we should be ready to stand together and demand a dignified workplace. Though a strike would be our last resort, it is also our most powerful tool. Join your co-workers next Wednesday, Feb 21st to learn more about what it means to strike and how to prepare for the possibility of a strike.

During the meeting, we will discuss the specifics of what it means to withhold your labor. We will figure out the nitty-gritty of what that might look like for folks with a variety of workplace and research responsibilities. You will leave with concrete steps you can take if the administration refuses to make meaningful strides on pay, anti-discrimination, and teaching.

Now is the time to get prepared!! The meeting will be held next Wednesday, Feb 21st at 16:00 in the KCBD 4th floor lounge.

If UChicago continues to stall on important articles that we need for a fair contract, we should be prepared to show them we are serious about leveraging our collective power. Let’s stand together for the contract we deserve!
