Hot Bargaining Summer Kick-off Party: 5/30!
Dear Members,
The historic day is upon us! Next Wednesday, May 31st, our bargaining committee is going to meet with the university for the first time after so many years of organizing. During this meeting, we will be delivering our language proposals to the university and setting up the future dates of bargaining. Expect an update within a couple of days of bargaining.
This is our contract, and the strength of the contract depends on our involvement and being informed about what we are fighting for and why it is worth fighting for. To this end, your department organizers will be doing walkthroughs the rest of this week to talk about what the proposals are and why they are so important in improving our working conditions.
Next Tuesday, May 30th, we are hosting our hot bargaining summer kick off party! This is a day to celebrate this historic day and hard work of organizing with food, lawn games and screen printing, so bring a shirt or a tote bag to get your union’s logo printed and show off your union pride.
On the day of bargaining, May 31st, we are celebrating a day of Union Visibility. Wear your union shirt, put up a sign outside your office, or wear a button to show support for GSU. After the day of bargaining, meet up with your bargaining committee at The Cove starting at 7pm. Bargaining committee members will be there to chat about what happened during the day. Perhaps buy them a beer to show your appreciation!
