May 31: Time to Bargain!
Dear Members,
The date of the first bargaining session of our union with the UChicago administration is set to May 31. Our bargaining team is ready to deliver the language proposals on that day and decide the dates of next bargaining sessions. Our lead negotiator would be Kimberly Lawson, who has been working with UE for over 30 years and has bargained several contracts for other UE locals. The university’s bargaining team consists of Anna Wermuth from Cozen O’Connor law firm, Jason Merchant, Vice Provost; Beth Niestat, Assistant Provost & Executive Director, UChicagoGRAD Administration and Policy; and Brett Liebsker, Assistant Vice President, Human Resources. Stay tuned for details on a week of union visibility & celebration to mark the beginning of negotiations!
