Prepare to Bargain!

Dear Members,
We are eagerly waiting for the ballot count on March 16. Until then, a reminder that mail-in ballots must reach the NLRB office by March 14.
The energy and momentum remain high! At the General Members Meeting on Tuesday, February 28, organizers will lay out a timeline to get to the bargaining table as soon as possible so that we can start improving the working conditions of all graduate workers. The GMM is from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Hyde Park Union Church (5600 S Woodlawn Ave) and on Zoom. Please register for the meeting in advance.
Are you excited to help write contract proposals, survey your coworkers about their top priorities, or run for a position on the Bargaining Committee? The meeting will cover the timeline of bargaining and prepare all members to participate in the process. Full agenda to come tomorrow.
If you are already curious about the Bargaining Committee elections or interested in running, join Zoom office hours starting February 22nd, weekdays from 12-1pm and 5-6pm to ask questions and get answers. Your coworkers have also prepared a general Bargaining FAQ!
Announcement
- The Temple University Graduate Students’ Association (TUGSA), is currently on a strike and are facing retaliation from the administration in the form of reversing tuition waivers and cutting health insurance. Consider donating to their strike fund and signing an open letter boycotting Temple University events until the strike is resolved fairly.
- Princeton Graduate Students United, another UE union, launched its card campaign last week and over 1,000 graduate workers signed their union cards on the first day!
In solidarity,
Graduate Students United
