Should GSU Affiliate with an International Union?

During this coming Spring Quarter, GSU will hold a member-wide referendum on the issue of affiliation. Should GSU affiliate with an international union? If so, with which one? This will be by far the most important issue that GSU has voted on, and we need YOU to take part in figuring out what is in the best interest of graduate student workers here at the University of Chicago.

There will be a series of GSU-hosted events throughout the quarter where members and interested graduate students will be able to discuss this issue, including meetings with the unions themselves. More information on the dates and places of these events will be forthcoming. In the meantime, please take a few minutes to look over the spread on affiliation in the latest issue of GSU News (pdf), where you can find answers to frequently asked questions concerning affiliation as well as some information on each of the unions we are considering.
